In the heart of Katong’s vibrant food scene, one name has stood the test of time—Chin Mee Chin Confectionery, Singapore’s beloved heritage coffeeshop. Established in 1925, this iconic breakfast spot is famed for its golden kaya toast and rich sock-brewed kopi.

After a brief closure in 2018, the family-run business made a triumphant return and is now celebrating its centennial anniversary with a grand three-month celebration from June to August. The festivities also coincide with Singapore’s 60th birthday (SG60), making it an extra special occasion.

A Taste of Tradition: New & Classic Dishes

The highlight of the celebrations? A specially curated menu featuring timeless local favorites alongside brand-new creations. Here are some must-try dishes launching this August:

• Curry Pork Chop ($8.80): Crispy breaded pork cutlet smothered in homemade curry paste and creamy coconut sauce.
• Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Mustard Greens ($10.80): Tender pork belly slow-cooked in soy sauce, cinnamon, ginger, and sesame oil—a comforting taste of home.
• Pang Susi ($2.80): A Peranakan-inspired delight—soft sweet potato buns stuffed with minced pork, candied winter melon, and mixed vegetables.

The café is also introducing decadent French toast variations like:

• Kaya French Toast ($6)
• Peanut Butter French Toast ($7)
• Nutella French Toast ($8)

A Sweet Collaboration with Artyzen Singapore

Capping off SG60 celebrations is an exciting partnership between Chin Mee Chin Confectionery and luxury hotel Artyzen Singapore for their culinary campaign—"The Heart of SG60". From May to October:
